Important Words

Every son needs to hear a few things from his dad. There are some words that every son longs to hear from his dad. The words are simple but they carry a great deal of weight that can have an effect for life. Every son needs to hear the words “I love you” and “I’m proud of you”. Those simple words can make a huge difference in every boy’s life. As old as I am, those words still make a difference to me coming from my dad.

We have a great example to follow in the Bible. In the first chapter of Mark. Mark 1:9-11 says this, At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. 11 And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”

If you have sons, they need to hear these words from you and these simple words will help to shape their lives. Dads, this applies to daughters as well and for that matter it applies to your wife. Let your family know by your words and your actions that you love them and you are proud of them. These few simple words will make a huge difference in the lives of the people in your family. Don’t hold back, let them know.

If you didn’t hear these words from your dad, you know how much they would have meant to you. Don’t carry that legacy into the lives of your family. Let them know.
