Your Team

Remember back when we were kids and it was time to pick teams? The two guys picking the teams were usually the best athletes and one by one they tried to pick a winning team.  As the selection process commenced, the teams would take shape, each captain trying to surround himself with a winning team. With each selection of a team member the remaining levels of skill declined and nobody wanted to be the last player picked.  The bottom line was that you wanted to pick people to be on your team that had some skill at whatever game that being played.

Move that thought process in your adult life. Who are the men that you are surrounding yourself with? Are they the guys that will encourage and equip you to live the life that God has called you to live?

Take a look at Proverbs 13:20  He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. (NIV)

Much like picking the team when we were kids we need to make smart choices as adults about the people who we spend time with, those who are on our team.  If our team mates are not helping us grow and move forward in our walk with Christ then maybe we should trade them, send them to the minors or give them an unconditional release.

Bottom line, walk with the wise and run from the fools.
