GET IN – Calling You Out

Posted: September 11, 2012 in Uncategorized

King David knew that he needed men in his life to speak clearly and truthfully to him.  He saw the value of having good men, righteous men close to him. Look at what he wrote in Psalm 141:5

“Let a righteous man strike me—it is a kindness; let him rebuke me—it is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it.”
Part of GET IN is getting into a small group, joining together with a group of men that will encourage, equip and speak truth into your life.  These guys have the right and are expected to get into your face when you are not firing on all cylinders.  They are the guys that have earned the right to get below the waterline in your life.  They ask the tough questions, they point out your failings but even more they are there to pick you up and help set you back on the right path.
As God’s men we need to develop friendships with men who will tell us what we need to hear and not just what we want to hear. It isn’t easy to find men who will be “that guy” for each other, it takes work and it takes time. Romans 12:10 says “Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.”

In order to have a brother like this, you have to be a brother like this, it works both ways.
Our suggested resource for our men’s small groups this fall is the book Being God’s Man by Pursuing Friendships. If your group would like to do this study let us know by emailing
