Man, It’s Only Wednesday…

Posted: November 7, 2012 in Just A Thought

It seems like this has been a long week and it’s only Wednesday. A lot has happened but let’s look at that a minute. This week so far:

  • people died, some knew Jesus but some didn’t
  • people were born
  • a family member of mine is refusing treatment for an ongoing health issue, she will die
  • somewhere several dads and husbands abandoned their families
  • somewhere several moms walked out on their families
  • there was a shooting in California that left three people dead and two wounded
  • somewhere children and women were abused
  • in every corner of the world people suffered
  • there were elections, some are happy about them and some are not happy at all

Watching social media this week has been interesting. One comment that I read said something about the number of days until the next election. Yikes! Another one said that they were disappointed with the Presidential election and that they would just have to trust Jesus now. Good idea. One guy quoted a verse in the Bible he said “Dear believers, the Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and He gives them to anyone He wishes” That’s from Daniel 4.

With all that is going on this week I hope that we haven’t forgotten to seek first his kingdom. Or that Jesus said  His kingdom was not of this world and  He came to seek and save what was lost. And I hope we didn’t forget with everything going on to go and make disciples.

Have people lost hope this week? If so, is their hope in the wrong things? If their hope isn’t in Jesus, in the Good News, in the Gospel then they will continue to be disappointed.

Just some thoughts that came to mind…
